At WPQHA Shows, the youth division entries exceed the national AQHA average of Youth entries per show.

The WPQHA not only seeks to provide competition among the youth, it also seeks to allow the youth to find activities to share within the association.

Youth work toward incentives and rewards for achieving personal goals with their horses and within the organization.

Dear WPQHYA member,

It ’s hard to believe that 2007 is over and a new year is beginning. It was an unforgettable one! With 2007 ending, it brings us all back together again, this time out side the showring, at the WPQHYA Meeting at the WPQHA Show Complex . The meeting will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at the Lunch Break in the Becker Pavilion. I ask that all available youth come and attend the meeting. We will be planning our year for 2008, and need your participation! There will be new and exciting things on the agenda. We will also be electing officers for 2008. Nominations will be taken up to and at the meeting. If anyone is interested in running for a position for 2008, please call or e-mail the Youth Advisors. I look forward to seeing everyone on May 2nd at our first horse show.

Let's see how many youth we can get to join the WPQHYA this coming show season.  Start by talking to anyone you know who would enjoy being a part of the group and tell them about the fun we are going to have this show season. Keep in mind that we have a WPQHYA Congress Youth Team to represent us at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Classes represented are: Showmanship, Horsemanship, HUS, Western Pleasure, and we are in need of exhibitors especially in Barrels and Reining! Don't forget our Small Fry Mascots! After all...the more the merrier!
